Script to screen is an overused phrase, and “turnkey” sounds like cheap software, but everyone seems to know what they mean, so… we’re still going to ignore them.
We do Vision Fulfillment. You give us a treatment—your vision—and we’ll deliver a finalized video in whatever format you need (HD-CAM, high quality digital file, digibeta, mini-dv (but seriously, don’t ask for mini-dv)).
That means we do pre-production—locations, talent, props, wardrobe—high def production (we usually use the RED, sometimes the 7D, but if you have the budget for film, by all means, let us know), and post production including color, sound design and audio mixing, motion graphics, visual f/x, and finalization.
That being said, we’re not an a la carte post production house. We handle post on our own projects, but rarely as a one-off service.
It’s just a better fit. We’ve been Creative Directors, Producers, Directors, Account Executives, Copywriters and strategic leads for national brands, so we understand what it’s like to hand off your baby. We’ll take care of it.
We’re not just executors. We’re creators. So while most production houses wait for you to bring them content and content ideas, we’re continually developing our own. Between Notes, our first feature film, premiered at the Dallas International Film Festival in April of 2011 and was released through Amazon, iTunes, InDemand, and other digital providers on November 22nd, 2011.
We’re currently in scripting and financing on our next film, The Walking Men, which is slated to begin production in December of 2012.
Our long term goal is to make Dallas the storytelling capital of the world. In the meantime we’re looking to give producers and agencies a reason to stop outsourcing to New York and LA, while serving the growing demand for high quality commercial production without the 7-digit budgets.
In the beginning, Kent served as the primary point of contact with our clients but as BFM has evolved, Kent has shifted most of his energies into our own projects. Prior to BFM, Kent served as the Creative Director for The Pursuant Group where he produced, wrote, and led creative development on over 1000 innovative online fundraising campaign narratives for clients such as Dallas Children’s Medical Center, the University of Notre Dame, and American Cancer Society.
Before this, Kent spent six years as a Writer and Producer with an Independent Production company based in Los Angeles. In this role, he helped secure pitches, meetings, and reviews with Oscar Winning Director/Producer team Robert Zemeckis and Jack Rapke (Back To The Future, Matchsick Men, Polar Express); Oscar Winning Producer of Titanic, Jon Landau and former Lightstorm Creative Exec Tom Cohen, as well as Oscar Winning Producer of Schindler’s List and Former Amblin Entertainment Head of Production Jerry Molen.
Kent Rabalais graduated with a BA in Professional Writing from Baylor University. He lives in Lewisville with his wife, Kristen, and son, Drew.

The majority of Matt(hew)'s time is spent working on our own projects, but occasionally he steps in to serve as a Creative Director or Writer on client projects. Prior to BFM, he concepted and produced successful campaigns for hundred of clients around the country, including LA’s BEST, American Heart Association, and Columbia Business School, while working as Senior Creative Writer and Associate Creative Director for The Pursuant Group. His work has earned multiple awards. He has been writing and producing short films, music videos, films and other forms of entertainment with fellow BFM Creative member, Chris Grissom, since childhood.

Chris focuses on direction of fictional narratives including commercials, music videos and films. He also lends his creative expertise to the development process as we are, from beginning to end, a team. Chris produced and directed campaigns for a variety of clients during his time with The Pursuant Group, as well as the feature length documentary, “Love Letter to Dallas” for the Old 97’s. He has directed several short films and music videos, and he recently completed his feature-length directorial debut, Between Notes.
He received his Bachelor’s in Broadcast Communications from Dallas Baptist University. He lives in Denton, Tx with his wife, Sommer, and son, Jack.
Matt’s specialty is documentary based pieces—working to bring the story out of people and environments. Whether it’s the creative concept or the captured piece, he continually pushes to make sure we’re delivering the highest quality work to our clients. This passion for great storytelling has led him around the world.
Matt filmed and directed successful campaigns for clients from New York to LA, and everywhere in between while working for The Pursuant Group, and he gathered a variety of shooting and editing experience while working for Fossil, Reel FX Creative Studios, and Lindblad Expeditions/National Geographic. He attended film school at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, and currently lives in Little Elm with his wife, Vicky.
Allison is a very accomplished producer (which is why her bio is egregiously long) who began her career at ad agency, DDB Needham, where she managed the 150 million dollar GTE account for the FOCUS division of DDB. After more than a year of agency work, Allison set her sights on bigger and better opportunities transitioning as a key coffee getter for the cast and crew working on Dallas – JR Returns.
Having had a taste of the exciting and magical world of movies, Allison packed up her model T and moved to tinsel town where she worked for Artisan Entertainment, Universal Studios, Paramount Pictures, Warner Brothers, New Line Cinema, 20th Century Fox, Miramax and Dreamworks SKG. Working her way up from coffee to light snacks and beverages, Allison quickly rose to the ranks of Assistant Director, Production Manager and Producer working with such titans as Jerry Bruckheimer, Michael Bay, Timur Bekmamvetov and Tim Burton to name drop a few.
She was one of the Key Business Strategists behind The Blair Witch Project marketing campaign, leading the team responsible for revolutionizing the way the Internet and film marketing were viewed.
Allison brings a grassroots upbringing with the sophistication of intelligent marketing and strong production background to successfully design, implement and complete all types of media projects, and her response to any type of challenge can be summed up in a single, simple phrase: "Bring IT."
Dustin is a graduate of UNT and a very skilled motion graphics and visual f/x artist. Like Josh, we've worked with Dustin for several years, but we're very pleased to be making it official by bringing his talent under the BFM banner.
Dustin is highly sought after, having worked on motion graphics, F/X, and titles for projects like: CBS's Seve Ballesteros documentary that ran before the 2012 Masters, the recent, much praised, video featuring legendary street artist Shepard Fairey, and the brand new Henry Rollins Capitalism Tour among many, many others.
It’s been nearly 18 months since we opened our doors and in that time, our process, our plans,…
